While I've wanted to make something out of this since I found it, I just haven't found the right material and had the time to commit to one project to get that upscale look that these have. The instructions for assembly are somewhat limited and say "To insure a proper form, insert buckram between heavy satin linings and sew into bags". This booklet has very stylish 1940s photos so I thought I'd share it even if I didn't make something out of it. Most of these are clutch style handbags and many of them have beautiful handles or zipper pulls. They don't say anything about where these could be sourced. The first six below have beautiful possibly Lucite handles. The next three have very 1940s hardware. A few classic clutches. They don't really say how these are closed and don't mention any additional materials like zippers or clasps. The next four have softer handles and might be an easier version to make. I'd love to see these in color but the black and white photos do an excellent job of showing the classic look. Next week we're back to the potholders.
